Amy George was recommended to me through my friend Alice, and knowing how much I liked Alice and her style, I knew we’d get along just fine. Meeting Amy was better than fine, I absolutely adore her, the definition of an absolute gem. Just like it is with your outfit, hair and a whole host of other things, it’s important to know what you like. A wedding is a great experience in getting to know a bit more about yourself, and asserting yourself I found. Again some inspiration of make up looks you like will really help communicate what you have in mind, if you don’t have the make up vocabulary. For example I thought I liked heavy coverage, it’s safe to say I do not, I just didn’t really stop to think about how I liked my make up before. For future reference, I like things dewy! I didn’t retouch my make up once through the day, it didn’t budge. That’s why I went with a professional, for as good as I think I am in applying my own make up, it’s normally slid off my face before sundown. I think my favourite thing about Amy, and everyone mentioned in this post, is they really listened. I featured this image of KJH on my inspiration board. Amy took the time to test the Stila eyeshadow and it’s longevity on a research trip, when she wasn’t satisfied with the wearability of it for 12+ hours, she found one that did (this Tom Ford eyeshadow is pricey, but my god it’s incredible). When I told her I didn’t really like wearing lipstick and loved lip balm, she spent time hunting down a hybrid between the two. The coverage satisfied Amy, and the texture satisfied me, and is now my favourite lipstick and liner combination which I use all the time. Amy made me feel so beautiful with the natural look she did for our wedding. My bridesmaids and mum were nervous about getting their makeup done as none of us wanted to feel 'done up' BUT they were absolutely delighted with how Amy made them look and have purchased all of her recommendations to wear regularly! All our looks were bespoke to us but worked together so well, looking amazing in the photographs and held all day. What's more Amy is the most lovely person and couldn't think of a better person to have had with me to join in the morning's excitement than Amy. Thank you so much xxx

Amy did the make up for me, my 4 bridesmaids and the Mums on my wedding day. Everything was perfect from the booking process, the trial, the follow up and getting ready on the big day.
I had our trial in her lovely studio- I don’t live locally and she was totally flexible with when and where we met, she made time for me during a weekend despite being in the middle of her busy wedding season which I appreciated so much. She took the time to make sure she knew exactly what look I was going for before getting started and it was the most wonderful experience!
Amy worked her magic on our big day and everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Everyone was glowing, we really did look our best! She made me and the girls feel so relaxed whilst getting ready, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding morning. To top it all off, our make up lasted all day, all night and looked flawless in every photo- I could not recommend anyone more to do makeup for a wedding, photoshoot or event!

I cannot thank Amy enough, not only for her incredible makeup skills, but also her friendly, warm personality. From the trial to the wedding day Amy was professional, welcoming, reliable and super talented. She really listened to what I wanted for my wedding day and I was overwhelmed with the results. I felt beautiful, enhanced but still very much myself - the perfect natural look. I couldn’t believe how long it lasted either, no touch ups were required! When looking at wedding makeup, I knew I wanted something that still looked natural and made me feel myself, and when I found Amy I knew she would be perfect! I really enjoyed my trial - Amy took so much time to get to know me, my skin and makeup routine and how I wanted the wedding to be. During the trial, she had so many great ideas, and made sure I was happy with the look she was creating. She also took notes from the trial to make sure I was completely happy on the day, which I was! The morning ran so smoothly (despite a fire alarm and some timings not quite going to plan) and it was a pleasure to have her as part of the wedding morning! If Amy is available, look no further!! I was debating whether to have a make-up artist for my wedding after some bad experiences but I'm so glad I booked her! Amy did mine, my mum's and my bridesmaids make-up and they all looked gorgeous. I was nervous about looking either too made up or being so natural I didn't feel special - a fine line! But she nailed it. She even managed to track down a discontinued lip gloss for me that I'm now obsessed with! Amy's not just she super talented though - with the ever-changing COVID situation she was an absolute godsend. Calm and reassuring when the rules were changing from one minute to the next - just what you need in a supplier when it feels like everything else is falling apart. Thank you!!

Amy is incredible!! So friendly, so talented and so understanding. We changed our date 3 times in 2020, she just went the flow and offered any support she could..makeup related or not! It has been so hard for the wedding industry, yet Amy continued to smile throughout. I had never had my makeup done before, so I was a little nervous but the trial was fab (she also recommended a lovely lunch spot after) & it left me feeling totally relaxed on my day where she did an amazing job with me, my mum & 3 bridesmaids Couldn't have asked for more! Absolutely recommend to anyone.

Amy is amazing! I met her at the Indie wedding fayre in Sheffield and knew instantly that I wanted her to do my bridal make up. She showed a genuine interest in our wedding plans and during the make up trial she took the time to get to know me so that she devised the perfect look for my wedding day. I and my bridesmaids had their makeup done by Amy George. I picked up her card at the Sheffield Indie Wedding Fayre and when meeting her for my trial, I knew instantly that I wanted her to do my wedding makeup. I first met Amy at a wedding fair last year, and after chatting with her about booking the beauty bar I just knew I needed her to do my makeup too! At my trial she was amazing! I’d only looked at very ‘play it safe’ makeup ideas and she was amazing at showing me alternatives that would work for me and I love it instantly! On the day she was an absolute trooper managing to do myself, 4 bridesmaids and my mum while still being super happy, relaxed and her smiley self. It was a pleasure to have her with us on the morning of my big day. She then came and did a beauty bar for our guests in the evening and again everyone fell in love with her! Not only is Amy unbelievably AMAZING at what she does but she is the coolest, loveliest most beautiful human inside and out ever...big statement I know but if you meet her, you will agree! I am so picky with my make up style and the products I will use but Amy went above and beyond to cater a look for me and source certain products and I absolutely LOVED what she did. Everyone commented on how stunning my make up was and it lasted all day and night without me having to reapply once! It also photographed beautifully too. She instinctively knows what will suit you and works her magic to make you a better version of yourself. Having Amy around on the morning of the wedding was a joy - it was like being in the company of an old friend as she is so warm and such fun! Just book Amy - she is mega! I came across Amy on Instagram, and was immediately blown away by the natural way she uses makeup. I just wanted to feel like the best version of myself but I was totally overwhelmed with where to start with makeup artists for the wedding. I did a lot of research with lots of people but as soon as I spoke to Amy I knew I needed to book her in! She spent so much time on the phone with me, I was worried about my skin and scarring for the big day and Amy talked me through lots of options and recommendations which I appreciated so much. She totally gets you wanting to tie in other elements of your big day with your makeup look, like your dress and flowers - the whole makeup planning/trial process was just lovely. She’s great at giving guidance if you aren’t sure but will listen to everything you say and take it all on board too! I loved getting to know Amy and she was awesome on the day, so organised and calming. Also, I loved my face on the day, I never really think that about myself but it was a lovely feeling to have on such a special day. From a practical point of view, my makeup was great all day so you have no worries there. Thank you so much Amy xxx

I dont think I will ever be able to express just how grateful I am to Amy. She did my make up for myself my bridesmaids and my mum for my wedding and she was just incredible. She made us look lime the best versions of ourselves, not "made up" or fake just naturally glowing and gorgeous. Amy is so professional and listened to what we all asked of her. One of my bridesmaids never wears any make up, whereas others do regularly so we all had different ideas of what we wanted. Amy took time with all of us in our tria to make sure we were comfortable and happy with everything.
On the wedding day Amy was a really calming and reassuring influence on us all keeping us on time and making us feel fabulous. She even came to the venue to give us a quick top up before going down the aisle. Our make up lasted all day long - normally i find my face goes shiny quickly but Amy made sure we were all flawless. I cant say thank you enough to her for getting up at 5am to come to our venue! The lady deserves a medal for everything she did. She works so hard to make sure you are happy and she is so fun and charming! I would and will be recommend Amy to anyone who needs makeup done. She is an absolute STAR!!
